Summer 2020

Amidst a GLOBAL PANDEMIC things have been going very well for my career. I've had my ups and downs during lockdown as has everyone. But there have been a few wonderful moments shine through and it's more important now than ever to have more human and honest representations of East Asian and Southeast Asian people on screen and in books. #CoronaRacism

BEATS FELLOWSHIP (August 2020)

I am thrilled to be chosen as a BEATS fellow. I will be mentored my screenwriter Emma Reeves who has worked on many CBBC shows (The Dumping Ground, The Demon Headmaster, Eve) and has adapted Jacqueline Wilson's recent novels Hetty Feather for stage and My Mum Tracy Beaker for TV. I am so happy with the pairing and look forward to growing further as a screenwriter! Thanks BEATS! Thanks Emma!

SHARP SHORTS Shortlist (July 2020)

I'm thrilled to be working with director Paul Sng and producer Johanna Blair on a short film called Folding. We've been shortlisted for Sharp Shorts and have been attending useful workshops and masterclasses online to help us shape our first draft. Only 9 out of 16 teams will get the £15,000 funding to make their film. The competition is fierce! But we're so lucky to be on a shortlist with such creative people. Fingers crossed. And toes.
